We have 271 properties on this estate and tenants have access to Harding by the estate office, staffed by a Customer Services representative, the Estate Supervisor and the caretakers. The estate is mixed tenure with a few leaseholders who bought their homes a few years ago. In 2001, a major facelift of the estate was finished, which saw the concrete walkways replaced by green land and a play area for the children on the estate. In June 2002, a Community Learning Centre at the front of the estate, in Vassall Road was completed. It offers training for residents of the Vassall area in IT and basic skills. However, in the near future, it will also offer a homework club and film club for local youngsters ASSET - a local employment and training skills agency, offers employment and training assessments, training and help in securing a job. Contact ASSET through the main office number at the bottom of the page. The residents on the estate are working hard to build a strong community and there is a strong representation of residents who attend the Tenants' Forum, Tenant Management Co-operative, the Community Group and the Gardening Club. Children were involved in redesigning the play area and painting a mural. Other activities have included a drama course and a cycle workshop during the school holidays. Volunteers, working on the estate built a dry-stone wall, a mural in the play area and created a community garden.
