You should always keep your tenancy agreement in a safe place. The Tenants' Charter is a set of guidelines and rules, provided by the Housing Corporation, that all Housing Associations must agree to. Rent statements are sent out quarterly but you may request one at any time.
Housing BenefitIf you are on low income you may be eligible for Housing Benefit which helps towards the cost of the rent. Housing Benefit is paid by the local authority, either direct to the tenant, or to the Association. It may cover all or part of the rent depending on your financial situation. Your Housing Officer is trained to provide benefits advice and can help you if you have difficulty completing the application form or are having problems with the Housing Benefit department. Although we will do everything we can to help, we cannot be held responsible for any query or dispute that arises between the tenant and local council. You can get an application form from your local authority Housing Benefits department. Contact numbers are listed below. Deaf tenants should use the fax number, if no minicom number is shown.
